2012 Oscars: Who Wore it Best?

As I watched the best part of the Oscars last night, the Red carpet outfits, I found myself thinking here we go again! Not only was I looking forward to the array of colorful and ridiculously overpriced outfits that my favorite actresses would be wearing, I was also looking forward to the inevitable scrutiny by the press over each outfit. Alas, I must say I was a bit disappointed. While there were certainly a few standouts, overall, the outfits seemed so…normal.

Take Angelina Jolie’s outfit for example. Now granted, anytime a Twitter account is created by the simple act of you sticking out your leg, and posing seductively in a manner that oozes seduction, it’s hard to find fault. angelina jolie 197x300 Oscar Night: And the Winner is... But as several other writers pointed out, it seemed like the same outfit she’s worn countless times.

Listen, there are only a handful of actresses who can capture the imagination of both men and women worldwide both on and off screen over generations, namely Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek to name a few. The bar is set extremely high for them, like it or not, so I expected more creativity. To make matters worse, Halle Berry was a no show.

Moving on, the color white seemed to be the theme this year as everyone from Gywneth Paltro to J Lo could be seen sporting the look emanating sheer elegance. But one in particular set herself apart by not only wearing this stunning emerald mermaid gown from Vera Wang, but by unleashing her natural hair for the world to see as well, exuding beauty both inside and out!

That being said, there was one, one disputed, celebrity who clearly stood out and made their mark on the night, and that person is none other than….drum roll….the Dictator! That’s right, ladies and gentlemen. In a night dominated by outfits from Givenchy, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, it was Sacha’s Kmart socks, military outfit, and hilarious stunt that stole the show!

While some say that spilling Kim Jong-Il’s ashes all over Secrest was a publicity stunt, Ryan looked none too pleased, and security didn’t seem to be amused either, which leads me to believe otherwise. I know you’ve seen the clip below several times by now, but you know you want to see it again. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2012 Winner
